How the Body Understands Time Has Always Been (a ritual) is a participatory somatic practice, performance, and ritual that explores the body as a site of remembrance and a medium for resistance. Drawing on practice-as-research methodologies, this project invites participants to engage in morning rituals, neighborhood walks, and reflective workshops inspired by personal grief and spiritual traditions. Participants explore autobiographical and communal narratives through breathwork, movement, and acts of remembrance, connecting the sensory experience of time to shared histories. Anchored in social justice movement practices, the project builds community through intimate exchanges, transforming the everyday into a space for mourning, reflection, and repair.
